The craft beverage company announces the launch of Yacht Rock White Ale.
A classic white ale has long been a staple in craft brewing, with origins dating back to the Middle Ages in Belgium, and it remains a popular craft brew throughout the Carolinas. Yacht Rock, the refreshing new addition to Peak Drift’s core lineup, is a white ale that boasts a light body and cloudy white appearance, in the tradition of Belgian Witbier, with notes of coriander and orange peel, and hopped with hand-selected Mandarina Bavaria. Available year-round, Yacht Rock brings a smooth, citrusy flavor to the table, perfect for any occasion. Individual 6-packs of these beers are now available across the state, along with draft options in select restaurants.

So, we set out to create the perfect balance—crisp, easy-drinking, and infused with notes of orange and coriander. Naming it ‘Yacht Rock’ felt like a natural fit because it’s inspired by the smooth, feel-good energy of the music genre. Craft Brew Inc. has leaned into its collective talent pool, bringing in expert brewmasters like Shaun Piggott to drive innovation. This specific brew was created by Shaun Piggott, Director of Innovation at Craft Brew Inc., whose tenure in the industry includes acclaimed recipe development at Columbia Craft Brewery, now owned by Craft Brew Inc. With a passion for creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to organization, Piggot brings over 11 years of experience to the role. He holds an International Diploma in Brewing Technology from the Siebel Institute and Doemens Academy in Germany. Piggott has amassed numerous awards throughout his career, including a Gold Medal at the World Beer Cup, two Gold Medals at the Great American Beer Festival, and multiple awards at the US Open Beer Championships (one gold, four silver, and two bronze).
“I really enjoyed my time in Belgium and would often reminisce about the times when I would enjoy a crushable yet fully flavored white ale on the terrace of numerous cafes and bars. The experience of soaking up the sun and people watching while drinking great beer is hard to replicate. So I figured I’d start by developing the beer part and hope the rest would follow,” states Shaun Piggott, Director of Innovation at Craft Brew Inc.
