Columbia Children’s Theatre brings the beloved blue feline to the stage May 3
Get ready to sing along and groove your way through a colorful journey when Columbia Children’s Theatre presents Pete the Cat at Harbison Theatre on Saturday, May 3, 2025. This upbeat musical follows Pete and his new friend Jimmy Biddle on a whirlwind adventure to Paris as they attempt to conquer a second-grade art assignment. Through music, mishaps, and a trip in a VW bus, the pair discovers the power of creativity, friendship, and rolling with whatever life throws their way.
“We have been trying to secure the rights to produce Pete the Cat for years,” said Columbia Children’s Theatre Executive Director Jerry Stevenson. “The title has been so wildly popular that we could only land it after the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte premiered it in our region. We’re thrilled to finally bring this show to Midlands audiences!”
Based on the bestselling children’s books by James Dean and Eric Litwin, this production promises toe-tapping tunes, laughter, and heartfelt moments. As author Eric Litwin reminds us:
“I guess it simply goes to show that stuff will come and stuff will go. But do we cry? Goodness no! We keep singing.”
