Bradley was a Distinguished Military Graduate of Clemson in 1965 with a degree in industrial management. He owns an Allstate Insurance Agency in Charleston.

The Clemson University Board of Visitors has approximately 60 members who are nominated by university trustees and appointed by the president to act as goodwill ambassadors for Clemson. The board members perform a variety of functions, from hosting receptions for accepted students to establishing relations with legislators in Columbia and Washington, D.C., to encourage support for university goals. They are available to offer help and advice to the university administration.

Bradley, who has been a member of the Board of Visitors seven years and its executive committee three years, said the members of the board are passionate about the university “and especially our product: a well-educated, well-round young person who will make a difference in the world.”

He and his wife, Mary, have been longtime supporters of Clemson. They have provided funds for the Creative Inquiry student projects and the Phil and Mary Bradley Award for Mentoring in Creative Inquiry. Through a family trust they also helped fund of the clubhouse in the WestZone at Memorial Stadium.

Bradley also serves in the Clemson University Foundation and is active in the Clemson Lowcountry Club.

The Bradleys have two children: Renee, who works in the Office of Special Education at the U.S. Department of Education; and Philip, who has an Allstate Insurance Agency in Mount Pleasant.
