Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group launches “Service to Veterans” program

GREENVILLE, SC – Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group (PREG) announced that its clinics will offer deeply discounted care to veterans whose service-related injuries have impaired their fertility.

The program, “Service to Veterans” was initiated by the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) earlier this month. Member clinics from across the country will participate by providing deeply discounted In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) services to injured veterans. To determine eligibility, clinics will be using the criteria developed by the Department of Defense for active-duty personnel.

In South Carolina, Dr. John Payne is the provider of choice with Tricare, the VA’s insurance. Dr. Payne joined the staff at PREG in 2007 after a successful fifteen-year military medical career with his last three years assigned to Walter Reed Army Medical Center as the Chief of the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Division in the Ob/Gyn Department and was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Medical Corps. He is board-certified in both General Obstetrics and Gynecology and in the subspecialty of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

I wholeheartedly believe that we should take care of our military. We need to provide them every option available to have a family and cost should not be the deciding factor in their treatment.”
