Plaid About Reading Program Invites Youngest Fans of RBC Heritage to Turn Pages for Tradition

The HeritageClassic Foundation Presents 2nd Annual Reading Competition to AreaSchools
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 – TheHeritage Classic Foundation is thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Plaid About Reading program and invites area schools to join in the fun.A chance for the youngest fans of the RBC Heritage to keep the pages turning, The Plaid About Reading program gives students a chance to win $500 fortheir school, tickets to the RBC Heritage, and a visit from a PGA progolfer.
The Plaid About Reading program is a reading competition that gives areaelementary school students in kindergarten through 5th gradeexclusive opportunities to experience the fun factor that’s the heart of the RBCHeritage. Schools are encouraged to join in the fun today.
The Plaid About Reading program runs from Monday, Feb.20, through Monday, Mar. 5:
- The school that reads themost books will win a visit from a PGA TOUR pro on Tuesday, Apr. 10.
- The class that reads themost books will win $500.
- The student who reads themost books from each class (K-5) will receive two daily grounds tickets to theRBC Heritage good for one of any of the following days of the tournament:Thursday, Apr. 12 – Sunday, Apr. 15.
“There is so much to celebrate this year starting with the RBC Heritage lives on!” said Steve Wilmot, tournament director of South Carolina’s only PGA TOUR event. “We look forward to getting our community schools and the students involved to join in the spirit of our very special golf tournament. We had great participation during our inaugural year and look forward to adding more schools to the list for 2012.”
