October 20, 2026

Presbyterian College will take its choral music outside this month when the PC Choir and Vocal Select present Pops on the Plaza, a free outdoor concert set for Thursday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. on Vance Plaza on the PC campus in Clinton.

Hosted by the college’s Department of Visual and Performing Arts, the evening will feature a lineup of popular music spanning several decades and genres. Audiences can expect selections from artists including Stevie Wonder, Walk the Moon, Queen and a-ha, along with music by film composer John Williams and songs from “The Greatest Showman” and “The Wizard of Oz.”

Kipper Ackerman, director of choral activities and Visual and Performing Arts Department enrollment liaison at Presbyterian College, said the outdoor setting marks a new chapter for the program.

“This is an exciting venture for us, bringing a concert outside under the lights on Vance Plaza,” Ackerman said. “We are so excited to share music that everyone knows and loves, from Stevie Wonder and Queen to John Williams and ‘The Wizard of Oz.’ We hope families and neighbors from all over Laurens County will pull up a chair and enjoy the evening with us.”

Admission is free, and the concert is open to all ages. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket for seating on the plaza. Food trucks and beverages will be available for purchase, and casual attire is welcome.

Vance Plaza is located on the Presbyterian College campus in Clinton.
