Popular Purple Trail reopens at Conestee Nature Preserve
September 9, 2026Hikers, runners, and nature enthusiasts can once again access one of Conestee Nature Preserve’s central loops, as park officials announced the full reopening of the Purple Trail.
The announcement brings welcome news to preserve visitors following temporary trail closures. Preserve management thanked the community for their patience during the maintenance and restoration work that allowed the pathway to safely welcome visitors back.

Location: The Purple Trail forms an elongated loop situated just south of the main Conestee Park athletic fields and facilities at 840 Mauldin Road.

Trail Connections: The path skirts the northern edge of the preserve’s West Bay wetlands, connecting visitors directly to adjacent paths, picnic shelters, and nearby parking area B.

Preserve Hours: The preserve remains open daily from sunrise to sunset, with free admission (a $3 per person donation is suggested to support ongoing maintenance).
