Popular Tuesdays with series to hold final session for the season May 19

The Friends of the Georgetown Library will host its final presentation of the 2025-2026 “Tuesdays With…” series, on Tuesday, May 19 at 10 am at the Georgetown Library Auditorium.
The featured speaker is Rudy Socha, CEO of Wounded Nature—Working Veterans and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. His presentation is titled “Beyond Plastic and Straws: Abandoned Boats and Treated Wood Littering Our Coastal Areas.”
Wounded Nature – Working Veterans is a national non-profit that mobilizes volunteer boaters and veterans to remove debris from difficult-to-reach coastal areas to help increase domestic fish, shrimp, and shellfish stocks. The organization has recently focused efforts on the Sampit River area and surrounding rivers in Georgetown.
On a side note, the presentation by Robin Salmon, originally scheduled for May, has been postponed until next year’s series.
