Popular Tuesdays With series to kick off Sept. 15 at Georgetown Library

The Friends of the Georgetown Library (FOGL) has announced the return of its popular “Tuesdays With…” Speaker Series for the 2026–2027 season, featuring a broad range of topics focused on local history, culture, environment, and community service.
The free monthly series will take place in person at 10:00 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month, September through May, in the Jean Flournoy Moody Auditorium at the Georgetown Library (405 Cleland Street). For those unable to attend in person, recordings of the presentations will be posted following each event on the Georgetown County Library YouTube page(opens in new tab).
2026–2027 “Tuesdays With…” Schedule
Sept. 15, 2026: Master Gardener Tim Chatman opens the series with “Seasonal Plantings for Your Garden.”
Oct. 20, 2026: Brandon Ellis, Assistant County Administrator and Emergency Services Director, presents “Emergency Preparedness & Stories from Past Emergencies.”
Nov. 17, 2026: Commander Reverend Franklin E. Rutledge, Founder of Low Country Veterans, discusses “Taking Care of Our Area Veterans with Programs & Housing.”
Jan. 19, 2027: Maureen Mulligan, Georgetown County Environmentalist, leads “Birds & Wildlife at the Georgetown County Landfill.”
Feb. 16, 2027: Captain Rommy Pyatt, owner of Tours De Sandy Island, offers “A Virtual Tour of Sandy Island.”
March 16, 2027: Robin Salmon, Vice President of Art & Historical Collections/Curator of Sculpture at Brookgreen Gardens, presents “Sandy Island, Brookgreen & the Huntingtons.”
April 20, 2027: Author Bob Raynor shares insights from “Fifty Miles of Protected South Carolina Coastline.”
May 18, 2027: Paige Sawyer, Georgetown County Veterans Services Officer, concludes the series with “Honoring Memorial Day.”
