Presbyterian College Choir Prepares to Take the Stage at Carnegie Hall
May 28, 2025A prestigious spotlight awaits the Presbyterian College Choir as it prepares to perform this Sunday, June 1, at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City. This remarkable opportunity marks a milestone in PC’s storied musical tradition—and it’s not just students making the journey.
Under the direction of Mrs. Kipper Ackerman, the choir will be joined by PC alumni and local community members in a powerful intergenerational performance, showcasing the heart and harmony of the PC family on one of the world’s most iconic stages.
Performing at Carnegie Hall is a career pinnacle for many musicians, and for this choir, it’s a testament to years of dedication, excellence, and love of music. This event is both a celebration of the past and a hopeful glimpse into the future of the college’s music program.
“This performance is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our students and alumni,” said Ackerman, Director of Choral Activities and Visual and Performing Arts Department Enrollment Liaison. “To share the stage with so many who’ve been part of the PC Choir family over the years, and to do it at Carnegie Hall—it’s beyond anything we could have dreamed.”
The ensemble includes current students, graduates from across the decades, and Clinton-area singers who’ve been part of PC’s extended musical family. Their joint performance embodies Presbyterian College’s values of community, creativity, and commitment to excellence.
Though many in the Laurens County community can’t be in New York for the performance, PC invites everyone to join in cheering on the choir from home. Social media will feature highlights throughout the weekend as the Blue Hose spirit takes center stage.
