Presbyterian College Unveils Completed Peace Pavilion, Restoring Historic Outdoor Chapel Site

Presbyterian College has completed the Peace Pavilion, a newly restored outdoor gathering space now open to students, faculty, and visitors on campus.

The pavilion features a labyrinth design on the floor intended for reflection and prayer, and its completion comes at a particularly meaningful time — just ahead of final exams. Wraparound benches provide space for conversations and community, while the open-air design encourages a connection with the natural environment.

The project holds special significance for the college, as the site marks the location of Presbyterian College’s first outdoor chapel, returning the space to its original spiritual purpose.

“Last semester, students in a graphic art class designed a unique labyrinth for use at PC,” said Buz Wilcoxon, Dean of Spiritual Life and Chaplain at Presbyterian College. “This spring, another student artist transformed that design into reality. This historic spot on PC‘s campus is now complete and ready to welcome those who need to find a place of peace and prayerful reflection in the midst of our busy world and active campus!”

The Peace Pavilion was the result of a collaborative legacy project bringing together the Office of Spiritual Life, the Visual and Performing Arts department, and the Facilities team at Presbyterian College.

The pavilion is now open and welcoming visitors to the Clinton campus.
