In its sixth year as a signature event presented by 701 Center for Contemporary Art, Columbia Open Studios is a free, self-guided driving tour of artists’ working studios spanning the City of Columbia and Richland and Lexington Counties. Artists share their techniques, tools and inspirations with tour-goers and offer the public a chance to purchase their artwork at no markup, which supports local cottage industries and contributes to the Midlands’ economy.

The Columbia Open Studios tour will feature 70 artists, including 27 new participants, whose mediums range from classic painting and sculpture to installation art, pottery, leatherworking, metalsmithing and more.

Major support for Columbia Open Studios is provided by BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, the City of Columbia and Richland County, as well as South Carolina Veterinary Specialists. The Preview Party is sponsored by Schmoyer and Company.

Tickets for the Columbia Open Studios Preview Party are $5 for 701 CCA members and $10 for nonmembers. Cash, credit and check will be accepted at the door.
