Professor of International Business to Receive Award for Lifetime Achievement

COLUMBIA, SC – February 27, 2009 – Dr. Randy Folks, distinguished professor emeritus of international business at the Moore School of Business, will be honored by NASBITE International for contributions to the field of international- business education.

NASBITE will present Folks with the John Otis Lifetime Achievement Award at a luncheon April 20 during the organization’s annual conference in San Diego. NASBITE International is a professional organization of business educators, trade specialists and global business practitioners from around the world.

Folks is executive director of the Moore School’s Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER). Folks, who earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and doctorate from Harvard University in 1966 and 1970, respectively, has been instrumental in developing the Moore School’s top-ranked program in international business and establishing its CIBER in 1989. Under Folks’ leadership, CIBER is becoming a leader in the areas of African business and U.S.-Africa business relations.
