Prysmian expands Lexington County operations

Prysmian North America announced plans to invest $80 million to expand its manufacturing operations in Lexington County, a project expected to create approximately 135 new jobs.
The company will expand its existing facility at 700 Industrial Drive in Lexington, increasing its manufacturing capabilities to help meet growing demand for digital infrastructure. Operations associated with the expansion are expected to be online in May 2028.
“This investment demonstrates our commitment to supporting the growth of the U.S. demand for advanced digital solutions,” Prysmian North America CEO Andrea Pirondini said. “We are one of just three U.S. manufacturers of fiber and optical cables, and now we are committing more than a billion dollars to new innovative solutions and transformational capacity growth.”
Prysmian produces optical fibers, optical and copper cables, and connectivity systems used for energy and digital connections. The company has operated for more than 140 years and has its international headquarters in Milan and North American headquarters in Highland Heights, Kentucky.
