Public Education Partners Announces Fluor as 2013 Partner of the Year

November 19, 2013

GREENVILLE, SC – November 19, 2013 – Each year Public Education Partners Greenville County (PEP) gathers with school representatives, donors and business partners to celebrate a year of hard work in our schools. To commemorate another great year, PEP will recognize Fluor as the 2013 Public Education Partner of the Year at their annual luncheon on Monday, November 25 at 12:00 at the Hyatt Regency in Greenville.

The focus of the 2013 Partner of the Year Luncheon will be on the future of education – how technology and innovative teaching strategies will influence the future of our children. Torrence Robinson, president of the Fluor Foundation, will be traveling to Greenville to accept the award.

The Partner of the Year represents a local company in which employees work tirelessly to improve public education in our community. Fluor contributes greatly to Greenville County Schools through volunteer hours, personal contributions and corporate commitment. Fluor employees support individual schools, STEM programs in several schools, and community partnerships that impact schools.

Fluor is a perfect example of the type of company Greenville benefits from the most, said Grier Mullins, Executive Director of PEP. The community involvement and corporate dedication of Fluor are just two of the reasons they were selected as our Partner of the Year.

This year’s luncheon theme is Ed Talk: Engaging the Digital Native with discussions from educators, administrators and local technology experts, moderated by Phil Yanov of Tech After 5. Tickets to the Partner of the Year Luncheon are $25 and include the program and lunch. Cheryl Smith, senior manager of Community & Public Affairs at Flour in Greenville will also be available to conduct interviews at the luncheon.

PEP is currently accepting sponsors for this event at all levels.  To become a sponsor or learn more about getting involved with this event, please email Lindsay Howerton-Hastings at [email protected].
