Public Meeting Scheduled to Present Planned Improvements to Colonial Lake

CHARLESTON, SC – The City of Charleston, in conjunction with the Charleston Parks Conservancy, is hosting a public drop-in style meeting to present the planned improvements to Colonial Lake from  5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. Staff will be present on the South side of Colonial Lake to display plans and discuss the details of the improvements to the public. 

The City and Conservancy’s $4 million capital improvement project is scheduled to begin this winter and will include improvements to the water circulation and water levels in the pond, hardscape replacement around the entire park and significant horticultural upgrades throughout the Park.

Dustin Clemens, City of Charleston Deputy Director of Capital Projects, said, “The City and Conservancy are excited to present these plans to the public and will have knowledgeable representatives available to discuss various details of the improvements with those who attend.”
