September 23, 2024Aston makes significant investment to enhance shopping experience
Aston announced the addition of Publix Super Market to Powdersville Plaza. The new store, situated at the northwest corner of Highway 153 and Highway 81 in Powdersville, South Carolina, will span approximately 50,000 square feet, offering residents a wide variety of grocery items, fresh produce, and pharmacy services.
Located in the former BI-LO site, the store marks another step in Publix’s expansion in the Upstate region, where the company already operates 20 stores, including two in Anderson County.
“We are excited to continue our growth in the upstate with another location for customers to experience the Publix difference,” said Jared Glover, media relations manager. “We look forward to welcoming our new customers soon.”
Barnes Connell, managing director of Aston, expressed enthusiasm about the new anchor tenant.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Publix to Powdersville Plaza,” said Connell. “Its presence aligns perfectly with our vision of fostering vibrant, community-centered shopping destinations. With its strong reputation for quality and customer service, we’re confident Publix will become an integral part of the local retail landscape.”
This strategic investment to elevate the center’s shopping experience relocates Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology to a newly constructed 13,266-square-foot outparcel while building expanded space for the new Publix.
“The addition of Publix and the new home for Kenneth Shuler’s School of Cosmetology is a testament to our commitment to invest in all our shopping centers in the Upstate,” George S. Dewey IV, president and CEO of Aston. “Our focus is on attracting top-quality, dynamic tenants while supporting the growth of existing businesses in order to ensure our centers not only thrive but meet the needs of the communities they serve.”
The new Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology facility will provide an enhanced learning environment for students, enabling instructors to provide quality education while customers receive professional services at discounted prices.
“We’re excited to continue our presence in the Powdersville area with Aston where we have served the community for more than 14 years,” said Garrett Shuler, vice president of Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology.
The investment in Powdersville Plaza marks another significant step in Aston’s continued commitment to the Greenville market where the company has invested significantly over the past two years, including the complete renovation of North Hills Shopping Center and acquisition of McBee Station and Verdae Village.
