PURE Theatre welcomes new Managing Director

September 29, 2016

PURE Theatre welcomes Brian Rowe as the company’s new Managing Director. Mr. Rowe brings over 15 years of non-profit fundraising and management experience to Charleston’s premier contemporary professional theatre. He comes to Charleston from Baltimore, Maryland, where he most recently ran a fundraising management and consulting firm for organizations in the Baltimore-Washington area. In addition to his non-profit background, Mr. Rowe possesses experience in the professional theatre community, having previously worked for Theatre IV and Barksdale Theatres in Richmond, Virginia, and the Peterborough Players in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Mr. Rowe holds an MFA in Theatre from Virginia Commonwealth University and a BA in Political Science from the University of Charleston (WV).

PURE Theatre co-founder and Artistic Director Sharon Graci calls the hire a welcome addition to the PURE team and thinks it demonstrates PURE’s commitment to future growth. “Brian brings with him a level of fundraising expertise that PURE Theatre welcomes as we continue to grow our audience and expand our artistic horizons. Brian’s business-mindedness and management skills will help PURE advance its strategic vision and will allow me to focus on the artistic aspects of our work.”
