Putting for Palmetto Place Children’s Shelter

Palmetto Place Children’s Shelter hosted Putting for Palmetto Place, their annual golf tournament on Monday October 17 at The Windermere Club. The tournament raised $22,662 for abused, neglected and abandoned children and teens living at the shelter.Sunday night’s Putting Party featured live music by Not Even Brothers, a local Spartanburg duo. Hors d’oeuvres and desserts were prepared by some of the Midlands’ favorite chefs Dave Grillo, Lawrence Wright, Vinnie Livoti and Ryan Whitaker. The Putting Party also featured a silent auction and raffle prizes.

The winners of Monday’s tournament were David Gibson, Lee Long, Bo Mobley and James Hardwick of Gibson Insurance. The second place team was Ann Dedman, Joey Dedman, Ray Cunningham and Brian Wilkerson. Hampton Eadon of Harris & Graves P.A. won the Aurelius Golf raffle and took home an Aurelius Emperor Driver. All the golfers and attendees had a great time spending the day on the golf course and raising money for this charitable cause.

Palmetto Place Children’s Shelter provides a safe and nurturing environment for abused and neglected children and homeless teens, offering them a broad range of services concentrating on personal healing and development. The shelter is open 24 hours each day of the year with medical and mental health care, crisis adjustment/transitional counseling, after school tutoring and recreational and social activities in addition to food, clothing and shelter.
