Quackenbush Architects + Planners announced and welcome Edward Bauknight to the Q+ team as a new intern architect.
Bauknight, who grew up on Johns Island, South Carolina, has a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Portland State University in Oregon. He returned to his home state after 15 years in the Northwest with a desire to contribute to the vibrant efforts to create sustainable designs in the Palmetto state.
“Quackenbush has a strong commitment to the community and sustainability as a whole, and that’s something I wanted to be a part of,” he says. “It’s exciting to be back home and work to make a difference.”
Bauknight says he is especially drawn to designing spaces that help people experience their lives more fully. “I’m fascinated by the process of incorporating sustainable practices throughout all phases of design.”
He has been focused on building his knowledge on the latest architectural technology, and doing solar analysis on several projects.
“We’re happy to have Edward join the team,” says Quackenbush Architects + Planners President Doug Quackenbush. “His interest in sustainable design and experience in architecture software will be an asset to our client work.”
