Quackenbush Architects + Planners announces new associate

July 10, 2019

Quackenbush Architects + Planners welcomed Tyler Laprise as a new associate to the Q+ team.

Tyler is a 2019 graduate of the University of North Carolina Charlotte School for Arts + Architecture. While at UNC, he co-founded a business specializing in the design of furniture, advertising, and product and package design. During that time, he also worked on the renovation of a 1950’s era single family home, and focused on the framing, electrical, plumbing and the finishing work.

“I really enjoyed how deconstructing an old home like this gives you a history of its past,” he says. “I’ve always been interested in the craftsmanship of old buildings, particularly the unused mill buildings you find here in the South.” A Newberry, S.C., native, Laprise will use his design experience for a select range of projects at Quackenbush and work on acquiring licensure and accreditation.

Laprise brings a unique perspective to the Q+ team, says Quackenbush Architects + Planners President Doug Quackenbush. “Tyler’s experience in design and entrepreneurship strengthens our team’s ability to serve our client’s diverse needs. We’re excited to have these new talents on board and to grow with us.”
