Quackenbush Architects + Planners announces new team member

August 8, 2023

Quackenbush Architects + Planners welcomed Mitch Newbold AIA to the Q+ team as a new architect.

Newbold, a native of Herrin, Illinois, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Studies from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Architecture degree from Clemson University. He is also an AIA Columbia board member.

“I’ve always enjoyed working on higher education, projects, and specifically, extensive renovations,” he says. “It’s a unique opportunity to reimagine and breathe new life into existing structures, making something that has integrity and that’s built to last.”

He points to Quackenbush projects in Columbia as examples of buildings that have created an invigorated sense of community, from the renovations of Boyd Plaza at the Columbia Museum of Art to the Rosewood Elementary Library and its addition.

“We’re thrilled to have Mitch join us,” says Quackenbush Architects + Planners President Doug Quackenbush. “We know that his broad scope of project experience will be a wonderful addition to the team.”
