Quackenbush Architects + Planners announces new team member

September 6, 2022

Quackenbush Architects + Planners announced and welcome Paula Monteagudo to the Q+ team as a new intern architect.

Monteagudo, a native of Argentina who grew up in Miami, Florida, has an undergraduate degree in Architecture from Miami Dade College and a Master of Architecture degree from Florida International University. Since spring 2019, she has worked as an intern architect on a number of commercial, education and historic projects.

“I’ve always enjoyed the design freedom in architecture and the ability to apply it to a small- or large-scale projects,” she says. “It’s the perfect blend of the artistic and the functional.”

Monteagudo says she enjoys working on adaptive reuse and historical projects. “It’s fascinating to learn how to preserve and renovate old buildings,” she says. “You become a building detective.”

She says coming to South Carolina almost two years ago provided her opportunities to work on historic preservation and renovation projects. She looks forward to working on her initial Quackenbush projects, including the current Johns Island Elementary School project.

“We’re thrilled to have Paula join us,” says Quackenbush Architects + Planners President Doug Quackenbush. “We know she’ll be a wonderful addition to the team.”
