November 18, 2019

Ramon Nieves-Lugo, Principal of UniComm Media Group (UMG), was elected in October to serve as an Associate Board Member for CPM Federal Credit Union, which has two branches in Greenville and 10 more across SC with over $350 million in assets. He will serve a three-year term, which began on November 1.

CPM was formed in 1955 by employees of the Charleston Paper Mill to deliver exceptional service and value to the Mill employees. Since that time, CPM has grown to $375 million in assets, earned national recognition for financial strength, and now delivers better retail banking to more than 58,000 people throughout the communities served by their network of 12 South Carolina branches and their highly rated digital services. In October, they opened a second branch in Greenville on the corner of Church Street and Augusta Street in downtown Greenville.

“CPM’s strong growth and commitment to serving its members in SC is impressive,” said Ramon Nieves-Lugo, Principal for UMG. “I am excited for the opportunity to support CPM’s commitment to diversity to better serve their members.”

A Puerto Rican native and Greenville business owner, Nieves-Lugo enjoys giving back and strengthening his community because it is part of his Hispanic legacy building goal. Currently, Nieves-Lugo is the Chair of LatinosUnited, serves on the Advisory Council for USC Upstate Johnson College of Business and Economics and is on the Advisory Committee for Greenville Triumph Soccer Club.

“Ramón understands the importance of knowing the diverse cultures represented in SC and how to effectively build strong and meaningful relationships,” said Mike Chodnicki, CPM Federal Credit Union Board Chair. “He will help us better serve CPM’s growing and diverse customer base.”
