Rapid Shelter Columbia to receive donations from the South Carolina Cooperative Extension Conference
February 10, 2025Who: Mayor Daniel Rickenmann, Clemson Cooperative Extension, SC State University 1890 Research & Extension, and Rapid Shelter Columbia.
What: The SC Cooperative Extension Joint Conference, which involves Clemson University and SC State University, has selected the City of Columbia’s Rapid Shelter Columbia, as this year’s recipient of donations given by over 300 attendees.
This is the second joint conference between the two land grant universities, which focuses on increasing collaborations and networking opportunities between the Clemson Cooperative Extension and SC State University 1890 Research and Extension.
Every year, the joint conference selects one honorable organization to receive donations from the attendees and selected the City of Columbia’s Rapid Shelter Columbia for their continuous commitment to our unsheltered populations throughout the Midlands.
The donation consists of requested items from Columbia Rapid Shelter including cleaning supplies, hygiene & personal health items, linens, refillable water bottles, books, umbrellas and more items related to the needs of our unsheltered residents.
