Rebuild Upstate completes repairs for more than 100 Upstate SC veterans

Rebuild Upstate has created a volunteer Veterans Support Team as the agency celebrates a milestone in completing repairs for more than 100 Upstate South Carolina veterans.

Rebuild Upstate serves low-income homeowners with repairs and accessibility improvements to create safe, livable housing in existing homes and neighborhoods in Greenville, Anderson, Pickens and Oconee counties. Nearly 10% of homes repaired by the organization throughout its history are owned by a veteran. Additionally, 163 spouses of veterans have benefitted from repairs, totaling more than 250 members of veteran families.

The Rebuild Upstate Volunteer Veteran Support Team is a new team that works to identify veterans in need of home repairs throughout the Rebuild Upstate service area.

With 8.5% of Upstate veterans living in poverty, there is more work to be done. Rebuild Upstate looks forward to pursuing future partnerships to provide critical home repairs for veterans and their families throughout the Upstate. Rebuild Upstate has provided more than 250 repair projects to Upstate veterans. There is work to be done as nearly 200 veterans are currently on the waiting list to receive home repairs.
