Recognize Library Lovers Month this February

Richland Library shares five reasons to love your library

With 13 bustling locations across Richland County, Richland Library gives residents plenty of reasons to love their local library. This February, we are featuring five resources that have captured our customers’ hearts.

  • Richland Library librarians love to cultivate custom book lists, programming, and resources that make families’ hearts flutter. Get reading recommendations on Twitter using “#AskALibrarian” to generate personalized picks from 12 – 1 p.m., on Thursdays, or visit our website.
  • Dinner Table Talks create the opportunity for families to have important conversations centered around books. Spread the love and make the world a more inclusive place by using these discussions to build capacity for talking about race and define our roles in fighting against both everyday and systemic racism.
  • Love what you do. Whether you are just starting out, looking to make a change, or trying to elevate your skills and be the best where you are, Richland Library wants you to be encouraged, be empowered and be employed. From one-on-one interview preparation and resume reviews or access to our Family Career Studio and LinkedIn Learning Richland Library’s Career Coaches are here to assist you. For more information contact 803-929-3401.
  • Do more of what you love with Richland Library’s Library of Things. It’s a collection of equipment that customers can check out from our Main location (1431 Assembly Street), and it includes a podcasting kit; photography kit, microphone kit, backdrop kit and lighting kit, Circut maker machine, binding machine, a metal detector, telescope, leaf blower, tiller, camping tent and more. The goal is to reduce barriers for entrepreneurs, creatives, and lifelong learners by providing access to quality equipment. Don’t forget about the library’s fine free policy. Almost 70,000 customers benefited from having their overdue fines erased, and more than 23,000 customers, whose accounts were previously blocked due to overdue fines, were reinstated.
