Reedy Reels Film Festival scheduled for this weekend

October 31, 2016

The Reedy Reels Film Festival will host its second annual event this weekend in Downtown Greenville.

The festival will be held Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5 at the Peace Center’s Gunter Theatre and will include designated film categories for each day. On Friday, documentaries will begin at 2:45 p.m., foreign films at 5:45 p.m. and local films at 8:45 p.m. On Saturday, student films will begin at 11:45 a.m., animation films at 2:45 p.m., shorts at 5:45 p.m. and feature films at 8:45 p.m., with an awards ceremony to follow.

Last year’s festival was held at the CU-ICAR campus and received more than 700 entry submissions. With the success of the first event, officials decided to move the festival downtown to engage more of the community in the art of independent filmmaking.

Tickets can be purchased from the Peace Center’s website or at the Peace Center’s Box Office on Main Street.
