Registration open for Carolina Prep

July 28, 2014

GREENVILLE, SC – Parents can still register their children for both Pre-School and Primary School classes at Carolina Prep for the 2014-15 school year.

Carolina Prep’s mission is to build a diverse, positive, stimulating learning environment which values excellence in academics, leadership, and service, said Lee Pariseau, the school’s Executive Director. Carolina Prep offers kindergarten through fifth grade classes, in addition to its Pre-School. Families can register by calling 864-385-6020 and classes start on August 18.

“Carolina Prep believes in partnering with families to provide superior academic and enrichment programs for the development of the whole child in a safe and secure environment,” Pariseau said. “We believe the nurturing culture of our school builds self-esteem and a love of learning. We celebrate and respect the individual cultural and ethnic backgrounds of our families.”

As part of its curriculum, Carolina Prep offer foreign language, music, art, daily physical education and other enrichment classes as part of students’ standard daily experiences, she said.  These classes are taught by dedicated art, music, Spanish, and physical education personnel, rather than as “add-on” subjects from their homeroom teachers.

The art program is based on Core Knowledge and National Art Education Standards which cover art history, creative expression, aesthetic awareness, and critique, Pariseau said. The foreign language program uses a thematic-based curriculum that follows the natural sequence of language learning.

Carolina Prep’s music education program is based on national music standards, and culminates each year with the students performing two musical productions, she said. The physical education program provides students with broad and diverse experiences five days a week.

“Our goal is to offer students and parents an excellent choice for academics,” she said.
