Relic Room closing at least through March 31 because of coronavirus

The South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum will be closed from Wednesday, March 18, through at least Tuesday, March 31, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
All tours, programs, and special events scheduled for that period are cancelled. That includes the previously announced special event to unveil the new Firebase Ripcord diorama, which had been scheduled for March 28, as well as such routine programs as Homeschool Fridays and the monthly Lunch and Learn lecture.
The Firebase Ripcord event will be reset for a later time.
It may prove necessary to remain closed longer than the end of the month, but that will be determined later.
Our top consideration is to protect the health and safety of the public, and of our staff at the museum,” said Executive Director Allen Roberson. “We will keep the public informed as to what happens next.”
The museum’s full-time staff will remain on duty and will be available by phone and email, but “We are discouraging in-person meetings if practical,” said Roberson. The main number for the museum is 803-737-8095.
