Renewable Water Resources sends crews to help with Hurricane Matthew recovery in Beaufort

October 11, 2016

A group of Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) employees may spend up to a week assisting Beaufort Jasper Water and Sewer Authority by supporting their partner on the coast’s recovery efforts after Hurricane Matthew.

A team consisting of 14 employees in nine trucks and five generators left Greenville with a police escort Wednesday afternoon to help restore clean water services along the coast, said Glen McManus, ReWa’s director of operations. He could not say how long the ReWa team would be helping in the Lowcountry, but stated it could be up to a week but will be there as long as we are needed.

“Our mission is to provide clean water,” McManus said. “It is our duty and honor to come to the aid of the people of Beaufort. It is going to be a tough job, but it is one that we want to do.”
