Residents advised to view County Council meeting on TV or online

March 17, 2020

Richland County Council will meet at its regularly scheduled time Tuesday, March 17. However, because of growing concerns related to the spread of COVID-19, residents are encouraged to view the meeting on the local government access channel or online.

Beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, residents can access a live video stream of the meeting at richlandcountysc.gov or on Facebook at @RichlandSC. The meeting also can be viewed on Spectrum channel 1302 and AT&T U-verse channel 99.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have issued guidance stating that large events and mass gatherings can contribute to the spread of COVID-19 or coronavirus, and the White House has recommended avoiding gatherings of more than 10 people.

Therefore, County Administrator Leonardo Brown strongly urges that only individuals who must be available to respond to questions from Council should attend Tuesday’s meeting.

Prior to the meeting, residents who want to participate in the Citizens’ Input segment should email or call in comments to the Clerk of Council’s Office at [email protected] or 803-576-2060. Comments must be received by 5 p.m.

Residents should provide their name, physical address, email address and the agenda item on which they are commenting. Comments are divided into three categories: items on the agenda that do not require a public hearing, items not on the agenda and public hearings.

To view the agenda, please visit richlandcountysc.gov.

Comments received will be read during the public comment portion of the meeting. The entire comment period will not exceed 30 minutes.

Residents should note that Richland County is continuing its business operations under enhanced safety protocols.
