Reverse Mortgage Specialist Joins Franklin Funding

CHARLESTON, SC – January 23, 2012 – Matt Barber has joined Franklin Funding Reverse Mortgages as a reverse mortgage specialist. Barber has worked in various aspects of residential lending since 2006.
“Matt joining our team is a clear indication of the expanding needs for senior homeowners in our community,” said David Heilman, vice president of Franklin Funding Reverse Mortgages.
Barber has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and English from the University of South Carolina. He lives in Summerville with his wife and two children.
Reverse mortgages are available to seniors age 62 and older who have home equity. They allow senior homeowners to borrow against the equity in their homes without having to make monthly payments as is required with a traditional mortgage. With a reverse mortgage, funds are advanced to the borrower and interest accrues, but the outstanding balance isn’t due until the last borrower leaves the home, sells the home or dies
