ReWa’s Stephen P. Graef Recognized with National Industry Award

GREENVILLE, SC – September 6, 2012 – Dr. Stephen P. Graef, former Technical Service Director and Environmental Consultant for Renewable Water Resources (ReWa), has been recognized for his long running, outstanding service to the community with a prestigious national award. The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) recognized Graef’s contributions with the 2012 National Environmental Achievement Award.

This dedication earned him placement as one of only five individuals across the nation that received the 2012 National Environmental Achievement Award in the Environment category. This achievement award honors those persons who have made significant contributions through outstanding advocacy and environmental stewardship that have had a positive impact on the environment, their utility, their community, NACWA and/or the clean water industry.

Since 1992, Graef has served as an innovator and a leader for Renewable Water Resources (ReWa), bringing countless projects to fruition with environment-minded results. His long-term focus at ReWa has been consolidation with a regional approach, to significantly improve the NPDES compliance record, and to promote the overall organization’s sustainability initiatives.

Graef’s 20-year span of innovative support has greatly increased the environmental stewardship of ReWa, first in his role as Director of Technical Services, and now as its Environmental Consultant.
