ReWiGo surpasses 2013 goals

September 16, 2013

GREENVILLE, SC – September 16, 2013 – ReWiGo Ministries set a goal to help 40 families through making emergency home repairs, building handicapped-accessible ramps and installing safety bars in 2013 – doubling its previous high of 20.

What was supposed to be a 12-month goal, though, was surpassed in seven as ReWiGo volunteers recently completed work on a 40th project, said Chris Manley, ReWiGo’s executive director. That major reason for the large push was the drastic need for ReWiGo’s services in Greenville, Anderson, Pickens and Oconee counties.

The demand is very high. We are getting more calls for service than ever before, Manley said. That means we can help many more people, but it also taxes our resources greatly.

ReWiGo Ministries exists to create safe, healthy, sustainable home environments for elderly, disabled, and impoverished people.

The types of work ReWiGo volunteers do centers around safety, health, and sustainability for the family or person living in the home.  Often, this may be accomplished by building a wheel chair ramp, repairing structural issues (such as a leaking roof or rotting floor boards), and even providing the resources for the homeowner to maintain their yard or home.
