Ribbon Cutting Celebration for New StoryWalk® at Joanna Park Set for June 16
June 11, 2025Laurens County First Steps invites families, educators, and community members to celebrate the launch of the new StoryWalk® at Joanna Park on Monday, June 16 at 9:30 AM at 205 Pickens Street in Joanna.
The ribbon cutting marks the opening of an interactive outdoor reading trail designed to promote early literacy, physical activity, and family engagement. As visitors walk through the park, they’ll enjoy a children’s storybook displayed page by page along a scenic path—offering a fun and educational experience for young readers and their caregivers.
Each child up to age 5 who attends will receive a free book, and light breakfast refreshments will be provided.
The StoryWalk® initiative encourages healthy habits and language development by combining movement with storytelling—making it a meaningful addition to Joanna Park and a valuable resource for local families.
To help organizers plan for the event, attendees are encouraged to RSVP by filling out the Google form here.
