Richard Cohn, Sr. Appointed to Chairman of City of Columbia Planning Commission

COLUMBIA, SC – Richard Cohn, Sr. has recently been appointed by the City of Columbia Planning Commission to serve as Chairman. In the past, Cohn has served as a board member.

The primary mission of the Planning Commission is to reviews proposed zoning changes; review public project, conditional use, street and development name changes and traffic impact applications.

Richard founded Cohn Construction in 1993 with the goal of building quality products and a company of integrity. Through his leadership, Cohn Construction has completed over 650 projects in the Southeast totaling over 15,000,000 SF. Richard has become a prominent member of the Midlands Community. His civic involvement in addition to the Planning Commission is President of the Tree of Life Congregation and former board of directors for both the South Carolina Philharmonic and the Wofford Terrier Club, member of the American Arbitration Association, and former Rotarian service.
