Richland County Airport Commission Elects New Officers

COLUMBIA, SC – The Richland County Airport Commission, which oversees the operation of the Jim Hamilton-L.B. Owens Airport (CUB), elected its officers for 2015. The new officers are:
- Jim Christopher, Chairman
- John Dean, Vice Chairman
- Stuart Hope, Treasurer
- Peter Mayers, Secretary

The Commission is composed of nine members appointed by the Richland County Council to assist in providing public aviation facilities and services and to promote aviation as a means of broadening the economic base of the County. The members are appointed to four-year terms, and two of the appointees must reside within one mile of the airport. Public meetings are held every other month on the second Monday.
Jim Hamilton-L.B. Owens is a general aviation/reliever airport that provides private and business aircraft easy access to downtown Columbia. The facility also houses the South Carolina Aviation Hall of Fame and the historic Curtiss-Wright Hangar.
