Richland County Councilmembers host meeting to discuss development of new Decker Center

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC – Richland County Councilmen Damon Jeter of District Three, Jim Manning of District Eight, Greg Pearce of District Six, and Kelvin Washington of District 10 are hosting a meeting to discuss the development of the new Decker Center Thursday, September 24, 2015, beginning at 6:30 p.m.at Forest Lake Park, located at 6820 Wedgefield Road in Columbia, S.C.

Representatives from the construction management group Brownstone and general contractor H.G. Reynolds will be presenting at the meeting.  Refreshments will be served.

The new Decker Center, known as the old Kroger shopping center, will be used for the Central Court Magistrate, Sheriff’s substation and space for members of the community to meet.  The substation is expected to include the civil and criminal warrants departments, an investigative unit, and all deputies will get their equipment from this location.

The Decker Center is planned to be finished in the fourth quarter of 2016 and Richland County Council sees the opening of the Center as a means to continue motivating redevelopment in the Decker area.
