The National Community Development Association (NCDA) created National Community Development Week in 1986, to bring attention to Community Development Block Grants (CDBG). National CD Week provides the opportunity for grantees, beneficiaries and partners to come together to showcase projects, and highlight the importance of federal funds in the community. National CD Week is also a time to educate the community and local government on the impact that CDBG and HOME grants have on the lives of low- and moderate-income people.
