Richland Library adds new option for checking out items

February 10, 2021

Richland Library is making it easier for customers to browse and check out items during their next visit. We’re now offering mobile self-checkout at our 13 locations.

To get started, customers need to:

  • Scan a QR code with their phone or log into their Richland Library account and click mobile self-checkout
  • Allow access to the camera on their phone
  • Scan or type in the barcode of the item that they would like to check out

The process is complete when a due date appears on the screen along with the title of the item.

“We’re adapting to new customer behaviors and developing features that enhance the overall experience across our library system,” says Phillip Higgins, Director of Marketing and Digital Strategy. “Mobile self-checkout gives our customers a contactless option to quickly check out their items – bypassing any lines and making the most of their time with us.”

Our staff is available to assist with any inquiries, and they’re still able to check out materials for customers at our public service desks.
