Richland Library Executive Director honored for contributions in the field

Considered a premier local honor, Richland Library Executive Director Melanie Huggins is the recipient of the F. William Summers Outstanding Alumni Award, presented April 11, 2016 by faculty at the University of South Carolina’s School of Library and Information Science.
Founded in 1986, the award is not presented annually but rather selectively. It recognizes outstanding contributions to the school and to the profession.
The School of Library and Information Science presented this award and others to exceptional undergraduate and graduate students, as well as alumni, at its annual Deans’ and Directors’ Lecture in the Hollings Library.
