Richland Library expands limited services, starting 6/24

June 23, 2020

Following a successful pilot of processing the existing holds of more than 2,000 customers, Richland Library is expanding its limited services to provide physical materials with minimal contact to all customers.

Starting Wednesday, June 24, customers can access their holds from 3 – 6 p.m., Mondays – Saturdays at the pick-up windows of four library locations, upon receiving notification that they’re available:

  • Ballentine (1200 Dutch Fork Rd., Irmo)
  • Northeast (7490 Parklane Rd., Columbia)
  • Sandhills (763 Fashion Dr., Columbia)
  • St. Andrews (2916 Broad River Rd., Columbia)

Customers can also request new materials over the phone and online. To accommodate the volume of holds at our four pick-up locations, the library is setting the request of new holds to a maximum of 15 per customer.

Lastly, customers can once again return their materials in the book drops of any library location. To limit exposure, please do not hand returned items to our staff at pick-up windows.

All 13 library locations remain closed in the interest of public safety. If customers have questions, the library is available 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Mondays – Fridays by calling any location, texting 803-667-4242 or visiting us online at richlandlibrary.com.
