Richland Library hosts panel discussion on The Power of Protest – August 27

Richland Library is inviting the community to take part in a powerful and timely discussion. Join us for The Power of Protest from 6:30 – 8 p.m., Thursday, August 27. Please register at richlandlibrary.com to take part in this online program, which is free and open to the public.
Cynthia Hardy, radio host of Onpoint!, is facilitating the conversation and focusing on the idea that one person can or cannot cause a revolution of change while examining the outcomes and impact.
Panelists include:
- Lawrence Nathaniel, Founder of Black Lives Matter SC and People Demand Action
- Dr. Larry Watson, Professor of History at South Carolina State University
- Jazmyne McCrae, Co-founder of EmpowerSC
- Captain Wendall Harris, Richland County Sheriff’s Department
The Power of Protest is part of an online program series that the library’s African-American History and Cultural Events Committee (AAHCE) has planned through fall 2020 to address critical themes and provide educational opportunities in our community.
