Richland Library, Jack and Jill of America, Inc. partner for student-led school board candidate forum

Classrooms & Candidates gives Richland Two students an opportunity to ask the questions that matter to them
Students will take the lead in a conversation about the future of their schools during Classrooms & Candidates, a student-led forum featuring candidates for the Richland School District Two Board of Trustees.
Richland Library and the Columbia SC Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. will present the forum on Monday, October 5, from 6–7:30 p.m. at the R2i2 Auditorium, 763 Fashion Drive, Columbia.
Rather than simply hearing adults discuss what they believe students need, “Classrooms & Candidates” puts young people at the center of the conversation. Keen Teens from the Columbia SC Chapter of Jack and Jill, representing students in grades 9–12, will hear directly from candidates about issues affecting their education and future opportunities.
The forum will give participating candidates a platform to share their perspectives and priorities for Richland Two schools while responding to questions informed by the experiences of students.
