Richland Library makes list of 2021 Top Workplaces in SC

Integrated Media Publishing (Greenville Business Magazine, Columbia Business Monthly and Charleston Business Magazine) is announcing Richland Library as a 2021 Top Workplace in South Carolina. We’re one of nearly 50 companies across the state to make this year’s list.
The library ranked #5 in the mid-size company category, and we received the special Benefits Award. In addition, the library earned top scores in three areas – meaningfulness, open-mindedness and direction. The award was based on staff feedback, which employee engagement technology company Energage, LLC administered.
“Richland Library is incredibly proud to receive this distinction,” said Executive Director Melanie Huggins. “Over the last year, our staff has faced unprecedented challenges and navigated through a global pandemic, but they never stopped serving our community. They were determined to find new and creative ways to address the growing and changing needs of local residents, and their resolve is inspiring. We’re grateful to them, appreciate all of their hard work and are thrilled they’re part of our team.”
There are around 350 staff members who make up Richland Library’s team. From librarians and artists to career coaches and social workers, they’re committed to fostering lifelong learning while providing access to information and resources for all.
This is the second year in a row that Richland Library has been recognized as a Top Workplace in South Carolina.
