Richland Library offers free consultations on health care coverage

October 30, 2016
Richland County is the second largest uninsured county in South Carolina at 12%, according to data from Enroll America. As Open Enrollment for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) nears, Richland Library social workers and navigators are preparing to answer local residents’ questions about health care coverage.

Our staff are offering access to free consultations – through appointments – at all of our locations. They can go over options that are available to local residents though the Health Insurance Marketplace and guide them through the application process.

To schedule an appointment, you can call 803-231-6330 or visit richlandlibrary.com/getcovered.

Be sure to have the following information readily available:

  • Household income for 2017
  • Social Security numbers
  • Dates of birth for yourself and dependents
  • Current workplace’s offered health care plan; optional

Open Enrollment for the ACA runs from November 1, 2016 through January 31, 2017.
