Richland Library presents author discussion on health & social justice

Richland Library is inviting the community to take part in a powerful discussion. Join us for Mama Can You Hear Me? A Cry from the African-American Soul from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., Thursday, October 22. Dr. Valinda Littlefield, Associate Professor of History at the University of South Carolina, is facilitating the conversation with special guest Dorothy Roberts, author of Killing the Black Body: Race, Reproduction, and the Meaning of Liberty. The two are covering issues of healthcare rights and racial justice.
Mama Can You Hear Me? A Cry from the African-American Soul is the third and final featured program from an online series that the library’s African-American History and Cultural Events Committee (AAHCE) planned through fall 2020 to address critical themes and provide educational opportunities in our community.
