Richland Library to reopen North Main location with new look

August 31, 2016

After nearly a year of construction, Richland Library North Main is prepared to reopen its doors, marking the first completed system-wide building project. Starting Thursday, September 1, our staff are unveiling the newly renovated and reconfigured location at 5306 North Main Street, featuring enhanced spaces, which include:

  • Networking Center: Participate in a professional webinar or virtual interview, or meet one-on-one with a community partner.
  • Recording Studio: Book a session to record your next hit using our state-of-the-art audio editing equipment and software.
  • Children’s Room: Inspire lifelong learning, get your kids ready for kindergarten or build reading muscles in our new areas. Check out the tutoring space that is available for one-on-one or group sessions.
  • Pop-Up Space: Display your latest invention, art work or great idea here.
  • Courtyard: Step outside while enjoying fresh air and community-inspired artwork.

The upgrades are part of a nearly $3 million project that was planned for the North Main location, made possible by Richland County residents with the passage of a $59 million bond referendum back in 2013.
