Richland One Schools win 19 Palmetto Gold and Silver Awards for student academic achievement
February 23, 2016Richland One schools won 19 Palmetto Gold and Palmetto Silver Awards, the state’s highest educational award for academic achievement and student improvement. The names of the 14 winning schools for 2014-2015 were announced February 23 by the South Carolina Department of Education.
The Palmetto Gold and Palmetto Silver awards program was created for schools attaining high levels of absolute performance, high rates of growth and substantial progress in closing achievement gaps between groups of students. Award winners are selected based on their 2013-2014 school report card ratings and students’ scores on the PASS (Palmetto Assessment of State Standards) and the EOCEP (End of Course Examination Program).
